Brian Watts – Brian’s radio career started in his hometown of Humboldt, Iowa while still in high school. He worked for 97.7 KHBT where he supervised the scheduled, pre-recorded radio shows, played and announced music live on air, read news updates, weather forecasts, local features and special announcements. Brian serves as Secretary on the 102.7FM Board of Directors, Secretary of the Kearney Business Group, and he is President of the Kearney Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He produces his weekday morning show, The K-Town Morning Zone with Brian Watts, Kearney LIVE, Believers and Bluegrass, KMO-TV News and Bulldog Radio Network football and basketball games.

Bill Teel – Bill earned an accounting degree in 1972 and an MBA in 1978 from Pittsburg State University. He served as an officer in the U.S Navy from 1972 – 1975. Home ported in Pearl Harbor, Bill completed two deployments to the Western Pacific during his service. In 1978, Bill joined Arthur Anderson & Co. as a CPA in the audit division. His clients included Hallmark Cards, the Kansas City Missouri School District, National Pizza Company, the American Cancer Society of Kansas and many others. His main emphasis was in manufacturing and real estate. In 1985, Bill joined T.J Cinnamons when the concept was first launched in Kansas City. During his 7 plus years there, the company grew from one bakery to over 225 bakeries. Bill also served two years as the Chief Operating Officer of K.C. Masterpiece Barbecue & Grill and two years as Co-Owner of the Boulevard Grill and joined the Golden Ox as Co-Owner in November of 2003. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Missouri Restaurant Association and and serves as a board member for the Kansas City Chapter of the Navy League.

Tony Holland – Tony serves on the Board of Directors and is the President and CEO of KC Coyote, located in Kearney, Missouri. Beginning operations as Isotech in June of 1986, the company started as an independent sales organization reselling hardware for Unisys Corporation. Isotech also provided software and wrote custom programs. While working with many rural small to medium size businesses, Tony saw a great need in the rural areas for computer skills. In November 2000, after a total makeover, Isotech, Inc. opened as a technology resource center providing local fax, copy, and shipping services. When Internet access in their rural communities was only available by dialing long distance, Isotech installed local Internet dial-up service for the areas between Gower, Plattsburg, Kearney, Liberty, and Smithville. In 2006, the dial-up service was converted into terrestrial fixed wireless Internet. KC Coyote now offers internet service within the state of Missouri to an estimated 516,000 people.

Kelly Gentry – Kelly joined 102.7FM and the Bulldog Radio Network in 2018 as a basketball color commentator and has grown that role to include color analyst for football as well as play by play for basketball. As a player, Kelly was an All State selection in both Football and Basketball at Penney High School. Kelly comes to the broadcast team with 20 years of coaching experience including being on the Kearney Junior high basketball staff for the last 5 years. He works in the medical sales industry full time but previously worked for Learfield/IMG Sports in sports marketing and media at the University of Missouri athletic department. Kelly volunteers as an Advisor for the National Small College Basketball Hall of Fame and is a Board member for the Kearney School District Education Foundation. Kelly and his wife Angie have lived in Kearney for 15 years and have 2 kids, Drew (19) and Lilah (12). 

Mike Davis – Before his retirement in June 2023, Mike served as President of the 102.7FM Board of Directors and as station Marketing Director. He continues to work on special assignment with the The Coach Minnick Show, with the Bulldog Football live broadcast team, and as a special assignment reporter with the Bulldog Radio Network. In a recent statement to KPGZ, Mike said, “My work with the wonderful people at Prime Broadcast Group has been one of the most fulfilling adventures of my career. It has been a blessing to be a part of the staff and volunteers at KPGZ who continue to dedicate themselves to providing Kearney with a high-quality home town broadcast news and information resource.”

Melinda Strathman – Melinda is our KMO-TV on-air weather personality and KPGZ news reporter. She is a Kearney High School graduate and attended William Jewel College, where she studied psychology and philosophy. She received her Masters degree from UMKC in Mental Health Counseling. Melinda has devoted the last 12 years to taking care of her family, helping run her family business and fulfilling her passion for helping children in foster care. In her spare time, she likes to read crime novels, go for runs, plan and go on fun adventures with her family and go to the beach.

Leonard Broughton – Leonard (Len) joined 102.7FM and KMO-TV as a guest host on Kearney Live in 2023 and joined the team as a permanent co-host later that year. He moved to Kearney from Northwest Ohio in 2009. Leonard works as a material handler at General Motors, where he has been employed for 25 years and he currently serves as a board member with the Kearney, Missouri School District. Leonard and his wife Kelly have 3 children, Audriana, Mitchell and Brock. Leonard and Kelly are also the proud grandparents of Brinley, Sienna, Hawkins and Everly.

Pete Chaston (1943 – 2022) – Pete was born on December 31, 1943 in the Bronx of New York City. He served in the Air Force as a weather technician and went on to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology/Oceanography from New York University.

Prior to coming to KPGZ, he developed and led a training program that teaches meteorologists how to forecast. He developed a snow forecasting technique that is now used by weather forecasters across the country to forecast amounts of snow. Pete has written five books on weather, which are used by numerous colleges in their college curriculum.

Pete grew up in New York City during the original doo-wop era, listening to Alan Freed on the radio, going to the rock'n'roll shows to see and hear the doo-wop groups, and singing on the street corner with his friends. Pete has produced doo-wop radio shows in Upstate New York, on Rock-it Radio in Ventura, California as well as on KPGZ for over five years.

Pete passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Liberty Hospital. He was 78 years old.
